After the Victorian “Black Saturday” bushfires of 2009, Flowerdale was one of the most devastated communities. Being almost destroyed didn’t stop them plucking up some serious country spirit and rebuilding themselves. The people of Flowerdale decided “we are the they” and by calling in every favor and pulling out every stop they could, began to return the town to what it once was rather than waiting for official assistance.
